    Very nice.

Your Tweets are longer than your footer so it goes outside and looks strange…

England should be with a capital letter not a lowercase one (About Page). And your Free for Job picture looks a bit like a girl :-)

An improvement on the previous, and a shameless plug for your own site ;-)

    Hey Richard,

The new design is pretty good. The layout is nice and clean, and it’s easy to understand right away what you offer.

However, I figure you’d like some constructive input.

One I first land on the site, I like to know who I’ll be dealing with. The new design is a bit impersonal. Even though I know, as you state, you are a freelance web developer and graphic designer, I don’t get the sense of “who is this person”, I guess what I’m saying is that I’d almost like to see you on the front, even if it was in the footer. It’s nice to be able to see the face behind the work right away, since it’s reassuring of “ah, this is the guy, he looks like he’s very tech-savvy”.

The other small detail is that Logo Design and Graphic Design come before website design. In the website design, you list your past work, although the other two do not have anything at the moment. I’m not sure if you’re still adding those or if there aren’t any at the moment. I personally would put Website Design first, since that’s what I’d probably be clicking first.

Something in me also wants to be able to click on “Richard Carpenter”, “Web Developer”, and “Graphic Designer” in the header. Even though it would be subtle, in the event that someone clicked on Web Developer, and then are taken to your website design portfolio section, I think it would give just a bit more oompf.

Other than those things, I think the design and flow work really well. I know right away what you can do.

    Hope this is insightful.

(Also, the “hire” icon at the bottom, has a little bit of white outline on the top of the head)

Great portfolio site, well done! There was something wrong with the layout at the contact pate under FF 3.1 on Ubuntu Linux. I can send a screen-shot if you want.

  7. Sandeep says:

    Looks good.
    All the best.:-))

  8. Marcel says:

I follow your blog since quite a long time. I like the tutorials and here I find some stuff that I won’t find or “understand” elsewhere. But I completely suck in Design. I am a professional coder and as you can see on my own site, the “design”-part has and will always be something I won’t be able to do.

Your site looks fantastic. To be honest, I like almost all of the designs you make.

    Best regards,
    Marcel

  9. Anne says:

Your newly re-designed site is very nice, easy to use, and easy to understand. I’ve been your avid fan ever since I came across with your blog “Hv-designs” because I learn more about web design.

Keep posting useful articles and tutorials.

  13. Martin says:

    Hey! nice work.
I really think you should change the portfolio section of the site to another color than white. I realyl think your “about me” page is wonderfull!

  14. EC says:

    New site looks great :D

Just wanted to say that in your post it says : “Re-Launched my portfolio. Now its even better before.”

It should be: “Re-Launched my portfolio. Now its even better then before.”,
else meaning that it was better before would be a bit weird o.O

  15. SkullTraill says:

Great Work Mate! I see you’ve made all the “I”s capital, and other improvements too…

This wouldn’t be by any chance because of the e-mail I sent you would it?

  16. Duy says:

    Maybe try something different?!
