Thank you this is exactly what I needed. This is the final nail in the coffin, the final piece in the puzzle, I can now safely go back and finish up my site get all my content loaded and finally take a break.

It’s a great example of how it could be used – whether or not you fancy the final effect the author has made is irrelevant. You’re not supposed to copy, you’re supposed to learn the technique.

Does anyone know what causes the nav to display vertically in ie6?
tried changing block to inline-block but lost now..:(

When tried this in explorer 6, doesns appear correctly but in firefox everything correct. In explorer the list appears vertically not horizontal. Why?

I believe you can just do :

$(function() {
// OPACITY OF BUTTON SET TO 100%
$(“.nav_links a”).css(“opacity”,”0″);

// ON MOUSE OVER
$(“.nav_links a”).hover(function () {

// SET OPACITY TO 30%
$(this).stop().animate({
opacity: 1.0
}, “slow”);
},

// ON MOUSE OUT
function () {

// SET OPACITY BACK TO 100%
$(this).stop().animate({
opacity: 1.0 //this part might need to be changed
}, “slow”);
});
});

To get the inverse effect ^^

Thanks for these top notch tuts. Expanding into jQuery is a wonderful idea and I like the psd–>html tuts as well. Always good for a brush up. Keep up the hard work; it’s appreciated.
